Hi, I’m Jae, the heart and hands behind Organically Jae. I was born in northeast Louisiana, deep in the country, where food, faith, and family shaped everything I am. When I got married, I moved to South Louisiana, where my love for cooking and storytelling deepened.
Food has always been my love language — the way I show care, connect with others, and preserve the stories of my ancestors. But when my husband and children began facing health issues and allergies, our family decided to live a healthier, more intentional life. I started researching the science behind food and how what we eat affects our lives.
I now cook only with organic, all-natural ingredients, and we’ve cut out shellfish, pork, and processed foods. Still, I could never give up the foods or flavors I grew up loving. Instead, I learned how to honor Southern classics in a fresh, wholesome way — keeping their heart and history alive while making them nourishing for today’s families.
I believe that Southern food is the backbone of American comfort food, and that culture and history are shared through the meals we cook and the stories we tell. Every recipe you’ll find here — from my Sweet Potato Pound Cake with Brown Sugar Glaze to my Homemade Southern BBQ Sauce — is rooted in heritage, made with love, and tested by my four toughest critics (my kids!) and my biggest supporter, my husband.
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me knee-deep in a good book, hanging out with my little people and my husband, or shopping for something that makes home feel a little cozier.
Through Organically Jae, I hope to teach, connect, and feed the soul — one Southern recipe at a time. 🍽️💛
