Description

Bright and fresh, this fruit salad with honey lime basil drizzle is the perfect recipe for spring brunch, Easter tables, or a light weekend treat. Juicy seasonal fruits are tossed with a vibrant honey, lime, and basil dressing for a refreshing burst of flavor in every bite. If basil isn’t your thing, swap it with mint for a slightly different but equally fresh twist.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup red grapes

1 cup blueberries

1 cup chopped kiwi

1 cup fresh chopped pineapple

1 cup fresh raspberries

1 cup fresh strawberries

1 ½ cup fresh watermelon squares

Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Basil Dressing

¼ cup honey

Juice of 2 limes

2 tablespoons freshly minced basil or mint

Optional: ½ teaspoon lime zest

Instructions

  1. Wash all fruit thoroughly using a vegetable cleaner and drain excess juice where needed.

  2. Cut the fruit as indicated in the ingredients list and place in a large mixing bowl.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lime juice, basil or mint, and optional lime zest.

  4. Pour the dressing over the prepared fruit.

  5. Gently toss until all fruit is evenly coated with the dressing.

  6. Add delicate fruits like raspberries and strawberries last, folding gently to prevent crushing.

  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Always wash fruit with a vegetable cleaner before cutting or serving.

  • Drain excess juice from juicy fruits like pineapple, watermelon, and kiwi to prevent a watery salad.

  • Add delicate fruits last (raspberries and strawberries) and fold gently to avoid bruising.

  • Prepare the dressing just before serving to keep flavors bright and fresh.

  • Creamy variation: Fold in ¼ cup Greek yogurt or light whipped cream for a creamy fruit salad.

  • Herb variation: Substitute basil with fresh mint if preferred.

  • Storage: Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Do not freeze.
